The Kangaroo Island Wilderness trail is a 5 day, 4 night trek on the South Western tip of Kangaroo Island in Flinders Chase National Park. There are some amazing coastal trails and spectacular views on this adventure. Below are a series of videos and photos documenting the experience.

Just finished an amazing 5 day trek through the wilderness with my big brother Michael. Epic trip! Captured a stack of scenes on the GoPro to upload. ?

Took the journey from Sydney to Kangaroo Island to start the Kangaroo Island Wilderness Trail. The day included gathering supplies and meeting up with my brother before we started the trail!
Wilderness Welcome. ⛺️ ?
Day 1 of the Kangaroo Island Wilderness Trail is a 12.2km hike through a gorge along Rocky River in Flinders Chase National Park. A good chance to decompress and adjust to the wilderness. This pic was taken at sunset after we set up our tent at Cup Gum Campsite.
Bro time. ? ?
Day 2 on the Kangaroo Island Wilderness Trail started out a little overcast, but it was the first time we felt immersed in the environment. This section is a 14.1km hike along the relatively untouched Maupertuis Coastline that features epic cliff tops and views.
Admirals Arch. ? ?
An optional side hike on day 2 of the Kangaroo Island Wilderness Trail takes you to Cape du Couedic around sunset. Great spot to soak in the surroundings.
Crazy Cliffs. ☀️ ?
Day 3 on the Kangaroo Island Wilderness Trail is a 13km stretch that features clifftop views and a lunch stop at the KI famous Remarkable Rocks. The view of Sanderson Bay is a beauty!
Remarkable Rocks. ? ?
On day 3 of the Kangaroo Island Wilderness Trail you meet Remarkable Rocks. These intriguing granite boulders are 500 million years in the making and are uniquely captivating.
Onward journey. ??
After checking out one of the highlights of the Kangaroo Island Wilderness Trail, it was time to continue the journey down the coast.

Camping leaves bit of packing to do. Day 4 on the Kangaroo Island Wilderness Trail was no exception.
Epic break. ? ?
We took a food stop here on the morning of day 4 on the Kangaroo Island Wilderness Trail. If you’re lucky you can see some dolphins in the surf here.

This thing has been everywhere with me. Now a veteran of theKangaroo Island Wilderness Trail.
Beach relief. ? ?
By day 4 of the Kangaroo Island Wilderness Trail Hanson Bay provided some needed relief. This section was 13km and felt a little warm with the sun overhead.

Been wanting to get outdoors with this guy for a while. Michael and I don’t live in the same city and trekking the trail with him on this trip was amazing. He’s looking very relaxed here at Sanderson Bay, even though we shared a tiny tent the whole trip!

Day 1, 12.2kms: Rocky River section.
Day 2, 14.1kms: Maupertuis section.
Day 3, 13km: Sanderson section
Day 4, 13.3km: Grassdale section
Day 5, 7.6km: Kelly Hill section
Best views are on day 2, 3 and 4. (Days 4 and 5 could be easily condensed in to one) Great trip. Remarkable Rocks, Sanderson Beach and Hanson Bay are epic!
