Less than two hours drive from Medellin you’ll find Guatapé. It’s a great day-trip for two reasons – the colourful streets and its enormous granite rock that needs to be seen to be believed. (El Peñón de Guatapé) Great town for spectacular views, boat rides and a coffee in the tight and bright streets.

Colombia is a great travel destination, don’t be put off by the legacy reputation of it being unsafe. This is one of many highlights to enjoy.
