On the Northern fringe of Patagonia is the popular lakeside town of Bariloche. Not only are the views of the surrounding areas spectacular, it’s also an excellent base for hiking. I went out on the trail with two newly found friends and hiked to Refugio Frey to Refugio Jakob. The trip was three days in total and it exceeded expectations, pictures are below.

View of Refugio Frey.

Chilling with friends near Refugio Frey.

All geared up.

View back down the valley.

Top of the mountain.

Enjoying the view over Refugio Jakob.
There is a lot more to see in this area, you could easily plan a two week trip here. My friends convinced me stay longer, I even missed my flight to stay with them. (But that’s another story)
