On the Southern end of Lake Titicaca is Isla del Sol. (Island of the Sun) The absence of cars and paved roads means the easiest way to see the island and the surrounding landscape is by foot. Great views when hiking the island from North to South.

The village on the Northern end of the island.

Colourful boat on Isla del Sol.

I was confronted by some locals on the hiking trail – slightly ferocious donkeys.

View looking South from the mid point of the island.

View from the accomodation on the Southern end of the Island. Not bad for $8.

Cute.
I travelled here for some peace and reflection after a hectic mountain climb. It was the perfect spot. Get here via the boat at Copacabana, West of La Paz in Bolivia.
