Sri Lanka has quite a few nice National Parks but I managed to see just two. Yala National Park is great for spotting animals including elephants, mongooses, buffaloes, boars and birdlife. The Horton Plains National Park in the Sri Lankan Highlands showcases ‘World’s End’, an epic viewpoint where you can literally see for miles.

Horton Plains World’s End hike

Both parks are a great taste of the outdoors. If you’re an animal lover – Yala does not disappoint in the spotting stakes. The Horton Plains viewpoint is spectacular, but be sure to get there early to admire the view before the clouds roll in.
